About this site

almushaf.com originally launched in 2001 as a way to read the Quran (and other texts) with easy access to translations and commentary. You can still access the old site temporarily here.

It is now being re-launched with the purpose of providing a means for people to develop their own notes/commentary on the Quran, while still having access to the published translations/commentaries. This change in direction came about primarily to help provide me with the tools I felt would be useful in my own study of the Quran. When considering the features I required, it became obvious that others might also benefit, so I decided to make it part of almushaf.com.

The main goals for the site are as follows:

• provide a visually appealing way to read the Quran online using Arabic text instead of images
• provide the ability to read several interpretations/translations of the Quran simultaneously
• encourage everyone to actively engage the Quran in constant and progressive by allowing them to take their own notes on each verse.

Anyone who is new to the site should begin by reading the How to use this site and familiarize yourself with the new features.
