Links

This site has benefited quite a bit from the work of others, so please take the time to visit and support the efforts of those that helped make this site possible. Below is a list of a few of the main resources I used to get this site going.

  • muhaddith.org: muhaddith.org is a non-profit, non-governmental organization in Syria that provided the text of the Quran used on this site. They have dozens, if not hundreds of other texts, most of which are available for free. Unfortunately, the other texts are all encrypted, so you will need to use their application to read them.
  • arabeyes.org: this is an Arab/Islam-oriented group of open-source development projects hosted by sourceforge.net. They provided the fonts that helped make this site easier to look at. There are plenty of other projects there, so if you are technically-inclined, please give them a look and see if you can help out.
  • mozilla.com: this is, of course, the company that brings us the Firefox browser. Get it.
  • php.net: this site is written in PHP. php.net provides the interpreter and a bunch of reference documentation that helped me out a lot.
  • mysql.com: the mySQL database is used to store all of your information.
  • zend.com: i used the articles about PHP development housed on zend.com to help develop this site.
  • bluehost.com: Bluehost is the hosting company that serves almushaf.com. It's not exactly providing a free service like the other guys on this list, but it's still a pretty important cog in the machine.
